Time-based network diagram

Time-based network diagrams are a special kind of network diagram, in which a date variable is represented either through the position of nodes, or through other visual attributes.

With Scimago Graphica it is possible to combine the use of layout algorithms with positioning in relation to an axis. Thus, if the date variable is linked to the X-axis, the layout algorithm will move the nodes vertically only, until the optimal visual configuration is reached.
