A Dorling cartogram is a data map that displays countries or regions as circles whose surface area corresponds to the value of the quantitative variable.
The circles of each country are placed approximately in their corresponding geographical position, but avoiding overlapping between them.
To create a Pseudo-Dorling cartogram in Scimago Graphica (t is not a true Dorling map since adjacency relationships are not preserved) link a geographic variable (Country) to 'unit' and in ‘Marks → Layout’ select 'Map+Avoid Overlap'.
Link a quantitative variable to 'Size'.
In the right sidebar, hide the background map (by clicking on the eye icon next to 'Maps').
